Project management pricing tracker

ClickUp vs Notion pricing

Both of these are in Project management, and we read both pricing pages the same way, with the same reader. Everything below is what each page printed on the day we read it. ClickUp read on 3 Sept 2026, Notion on 4 Sept 2026.

We check each page about once a day, so this is a daily reading, not a live feed. Prices are copied as printed, never converted and never averaged.

The two pages

ClickUp

The last check of this page did not complete, so its figures are from an earlier read.

Tier by tier

Rows are lined up by position on each page, not by tier name, because the names never match across two vendors. Row 1 is the top tier on each page, row 2 the one under it. Where one page has fewer tiers than the other, the row is left blank rather than paired with something it is not.

The entry tier

The two entry tiers carry the same figure: $10/user/mo on ClickUp's unlimited, and $10/member/month on Notion's Plus.

Both figures are charged per person, per month, so they are like for like. This is the cheapest paid monthly tier we can read on each page. Free tiers, quoted tiers and per-unit rates are left out, because none of those is a figure you can put next to another company's figure.

Changes we recorded

Every change we have written up for either page, newest first.

  • ClickUp emphasizes "25+ products" access across all plans and adds annual billing discount messaging to pricing page.

    ClickUp3 Sept 2026

ClickUp emphasizes "25+ products" access across all plans and adds annual billing discount messaging to pricing page. Why it matters: • ClickUp is repositioning as a bundled all-in-one platform rather than itemizing features by tier, making it harder for competitors to claim feature differentiation • The prominent "SAVE 30%" annual discount messaging signals aggressive retention focus and may pressure competitors to match or communicate similar discounts more visibly • By listing AI/Brain and Super Agents at plan-level rather than as paid add-ons in the forefront, ClickUp is normalizing these capabilities as table stakes across their entire product line Positioning: - Shifted messaging from individual feature lists to unified "25+ products" bundling language - Elevated AI/Brain and Super Agents to headline tier visibility, signaling these are no longer premium/optional but core platform features - Added prominent annual billing discount callout ("SAVE 30%") above pricing tiers Features: - Explicitly highlighted AI/Brain, Super Agents, Tasks & Projects, Forms, Gantt, Sprints, and Clips as representative of 25+ bundled products - Created '12 more' expandable link to obscure full feature depth (likely reducing comparison friction for lower tiers) What to do: • Audit competitor pricing pages for similar bundling/all-in-one positioning and test messaging that either emphasizes specialized depth vs. breadth or transparent feature-per-tier clarity • Model out impact of ClickUp's 30% annual discount on your own churn/retention benchmarks; prepare customer comms around your own billing incentives if not already competitive • Review whether AI capabilities are positioned as core (free) or premium in your own pricing; align positioning strategy to either match ClickUp's inclusivity or deliberately differentiate on modular pricing.

  • Notion adds live chat support widget to pricing page

    Notion3 Sept 2026

Notion adds live chat support widget to pricing page Why it matters: • Notion is optimizing conversion funnel by reducing friction for pricing inquiries, particularly for enterprise/custom deals • Live chat on pricing signals confidence in plan positioning and willingness to engage prospects in real-time Positioning: - Added live chat widget to pricing page with custom avatar branding - Chat option available during pricing evaluation to handle objections or custom plan discussions What to do: • Audit your own pricing page engagement tools-if you lack live chat or comparable conversion optimization, implement similar friction-reduction mechanics • Monitor whether Notion's chat volume increases and track common questions to identify competitive weaknesses in your positioning or plan clarity

  • ClickUp removes marketing messaging about 25+ products and simplifies feature positioning on pricing page

    ClickUp18 Aug 2026

ClickUp removes marketing messaging about 25+ products and simplifies feature positioning on pricing page Why it matters: • Messaging shift away from 'all-in-one' feature abundance positioning suggests internal strategy change, potentially toward deeper feature adoption rather than breadth claims • Feature icons and count removal may indicate clearer tier-based differentiation coming or testing of simplified value prop • Reduction in visual feature list complexity could improve conversion, worth monitoring if accompanied by pricing/plan changes Positioning & Messaging: - Removed prominent '25+ products' claim and associated product icons (AI/Brain, Super Agents, Chat, Tasks & Projects, Docs, Forms, Calendar, Whiteboards, Gantt, Time Tracking, Dashboards, Sprints, Clips, etc.) - Removed 'SAVE 30%' annual billing messaging prominently displayed in pricing toggle - Streamlined feature matrix display-no longer explicitly listing 12+ additional products beyond those shown What to do: • Monitor next 2-4 weeks for tier restructuring or pricing changes; the feature list removal often precedes plan/price updates • Audit your own messaging vs ClickUp's-if you emphasize product count/breadth, this is a signal the market may be moving toward outcome-focused positioning • Capture lost positioning: if ClickUp softens 'all-in-one' messaging, test emphasizing your focused depth or superior UX in 2-3 core workflows

  • ClickUp removes Templates link from pricing page navigation

    ClickUp15 Aug 2026

ClickUp removes Templates link from pricing page navigation Why it matters: • Templates section deprioritized in pricing page UX-suggests either lower usage or repositioning as secondary feature • Simplified navigation may indicate internal focus shift away from template-first onboarding Navigation/Positioning: - Templates link removed from pricing page header/menu navigation - No corresponding plan changes or pricing adjustments What to do: • Monitor whether templates remain available in product or if this signals deprecation of that feature • Check if ClickUp is shifting template strategy toward in-product discovery vs. external marketing

  • Notion removes live chat widget from pricing page

    Notion15 Aug 2026

Notion removes live chat widget from pricing page Why it matters: • Reduces direct contact friction for pricing inquiries-sales conversations may now route through contact form or demo requests instead • Suggests Notion may be optimizing support cost structure or shifting sales motion for enterprise deals Positioning: - Removed live chat widget from pricing page (previously featured Notion chat avatar) - Direct messaging capability no longer prominently available at point of purchase consideration What to do: • Monitor whether Notion redirects pricing inquiries through alternative contact channels (form, calendar links, or dedicated sales email) • Assess if this signals a shift in Notion's sales strategy-could indicate they're concentrating support on higher-value deals or reducing real-time support overhead

The two pages were read on different days, ClickUp on 3 Sept 2026 and Notion on 4 Sept 2026, so the figures above are not one moment. Prices are copied as printed, never converted and never averaged, and a vendor can change a page any time after we read it. Open both pricing pages before you act on any of this.
